Monsoon onset and kharif crop sowing

Monsoon onset in Bundelkhand Agroclimatic zone was on 23^rd June after that a no rainfall was received till 26^th June. From 22nd June to 28^th June morning a total of average 40-50mm of rainfall is received, which is not sufficiently recharge the soil moisture below 10cm depth. Farmers are advised to still wait for a few days to start sowing of kharif crops. The chance of rainfall during next 36 hours is above 70 percent and moderate rainfall around 30-40mm could expect to receive. Check the soil moisture recharge below 10cm depth before start of kharif crop sowing operation.   

Monsoon onset in Bundelkhand

The forecast of monsoon onset is very difficult at a particular place. But , forecast of monsoon onset is very important for farmers point of view in general and very important in rainfed and dryland area. Farmers are eagerly waiting for the monsoon onset to start the kharif crops sowing and other farm activities.

The monsoon final forecast update is still awaited from IMD during the month. There is possibility that monsoon onset will be between 19 and 24 June, 2017 in Tikamgarh. Though the pre monsoon showers will be received before 19^th June and hence; farmers will be able to start sowing of kharif crops on time.  Farmers are advised to start sowing of Soybean during last week of June to first week of July, looking the possibility of long breaks(greater than 2 weeks) in monsoon after its onset will be very low ( less than 40 per cent). 

Monsoon in M.P. India

Monsoon has already hit the Madhya Pradesh , but still Bundelkhand Agroclimatic zone is waiting for monsoon rain.
The monsoon rain will started after or on 22nd June in Bundelkhand ACZ. Framers are advised to be ready for sowing of kharif crops.
Temperature will going down by 4-5 degree Celsius and  humidity may above 70 percent in come 48 hours.
