As per IMD published weekly rainfall update, the rainfall (from 1-June to 22-August,2017)in districts of Chattarpur , Datia and Tikamgarh of MP is 27,29 and 33 percent below the normal rainfall of that period. The rainfall during 1-22 August is very low,hence these area are facing mid-season drought.
The total rainfall from 1- June 2017 to 18 August 2017 is around 500mm in Tikamgarh.
The YMV infections in soybean is observed in many farmers fields and may be spread to other healthy plant in next few weeks.
If the rainfall during 23 August to 30 Sept,2017 is below 300mm crop yield may be below average. The possibility that log duration variety of the crop will have moderately affected than the medium varieties.
Monitoring of rainfall is to be made to assess the drought situation in these districts. We have to see the ISRO and IMD F2 forecast for crop yield.
