The normal rainfall of 1st
June to 8th August is 471mm and the Tikamgarh district received only
63 percent of normal rainfall so far. Hence rainfall during August will be very
crucial for crop production.
The district normal
rainfall during august is 343 mm and during august, till now the district
received 10 percent of normal rainfall of august month. If the rainfall in
august is also below 30-40 percent of the normal than Soybean productivity will
be severally affected.
The black insect with bad
smell have finally arrived on 5th August, 2015 and continued their
activity in absence of heavy rain and continuous cloudy conditions. Their
appearance normally coincides with flowering of soybean. This is also flowering
started in soybean sown on 30 June- 3 July.
Generally the large
number of insects appears in less rainfall year and vice-versa.
